Having finished his medical education at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 1999, Dr Lima completed the Residency in Surgery and in Urology at Hospital of Clinics / UFMG in 2004. He also became Master of Surgery in 2004 and Ph.D. in Surgery in 2007, both obtained from UFMG.

Besides his medical activities, he´s also a Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Surgery Department of the Medicine Faculty at UFMG. He is the author of books, articles and texts focusing on medical teaching and more specifically related to Urology.

Currently, Dr Lima attends a private office and is responsible for the Urology Team Coordination at the Biocor Institute.
